On 2 June, the committee will hold a conference on “Migration Challenges in Central Asia and policy responses”, in co-operation with the Kyrgyz Parliament and the Parliamentary Project Support Division.

This conference will include the participation of the Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament; the Minister of Youth, Migration and Labour; the Minister of Justice; the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkish speaking Countries (TURKPA); experts from IOM and UNHCR, as well as Kyrgyz parliamentarians and of the four neighbouring countries.

On 3 June, the committee will hold an exchange of views with the Regional Representative of the UNHCR in Kazakhstan, on “Possible ways to improve the emergency refugee situations funding”. It should also adopt the report by Jim Sheridan on “Missing persons during the conflict in Ukraine”.
