27/01/2021 | 16:50:14 Thank you very much. My focus is human rights and in human rights we are supported by the agreements which have been reached earlier on. The court we have is an extremely important body and I think it should be obvious that every decision taken by our court should be respected by the member states. So for me there is no question about that point when it comes to this discussion. The ruling of the Court should be reflected and this of course will be one of the major issues if that is not acted... 27/06/2019 | 11:30:57 Thank you Madam Chair. Frankly I'm going home now with pride for being a Member of this Assembly, because this discussion is so well informed and so relevant in the daily lives of people in our home countries. The reports are really excellent and the discussion we are having now is one of the best I've heard in the Council of Europe, and I've been here, as you know, for some years, also for many of these discussions. In this case, I think this is a very serious report. I think that it's... 26/06/2019 | 11:10:13 Thank you very much. I find this discussion extremely encouraging because we are demonstrating a broad consensus on the great importance of this issue. This is definitely an area where the Council of Europe could play a very important role to stimulate our Member states really to be serious about protecting Human rights for this group of people. The situation in reality is still not good in spite of the United Nations Convention from 2006. Not all Member states have even ratified that... 09/04/2019 | 16:33:53 The report is excellent, as were the commentaries on it. I cannot add much, other than to testify that the problems presented in the report are real. Like others who have tried to represent the Council of Europe on missions in different countries, I have faced cases in which co-operation with European Union representatives has been good, but I have also had too many bad experiences. There have been cases of unnecessary overlap and duplication in our work, which in turn has resulted in...
