Strasbourg 14.02.2014 – A five-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Pedro Agramunt (Spain, EPP/CD), will carry out a pre-electoral visit to Belgrade on 19-20 February 2014, ahead of the early parliamentary elections in Serbia on 16 March 2014, to assess the electoral framework and campaign.
The delegation is due to meet the Speaker of Parliament, the Prime Minister and Interior Minister, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, leaders and representatives of parliamentary groups and the Serbian delegation to PACE. It will also meet representatives of international organisations, civil society and the media, as well as members of the diplomatic community in Belgrade.
The pre-electoral delegation will issue a statement on Thursday 20 February.
A full 21-member delegation from the Assembly will return to the country to observe the voting.
