the Bureau of 27 June 2025 requiring ratification by the Assembly
1.1 References to
committees
The Bureau considered and approved the following references:
- Partnerships
between culture and education sectors for young people to engage
in a democratic society, Doc. 16187, motion for a resolution: reference to the Committee
on Culture, Science, Education and Media for
report;
- A new European Convention on
Freedom of the Media, Doc. 16188, reference to the Committee on Culture, Science, Education
and Media for report;
- Corruption as a threat to democracy
and the rule of law in Europe: the emergency of the situation in Spain, Doc. 16194, motion for a resolution: reference to the Committee
on Legal Affairs and Human Rights for
report;
- Suspension of Israel’s observer
status, Doc. 16199, motion for a resolution: reference to the Committee on
Political Affairs and Democracy for report;
- The erosion of press freedom
through violence against journalists in the Middle East, Doc. 16204, motion for a resolution: reference to the Committee

committees
1.2.1 Committee on
Committee on Rules, Ethics and Immunities
On the basis of proposals by the Socialists, Democrats and
Greens Group, the Bureau nominated Mr Mogens Jensen (Denmark) and
Mr Roberto Speranza (Italy) as members.
The Bureau nominated Mr Abdurrahman Babacan (Türkiye, NR)
as a member.
1.2.2 Committee on
the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human Rights
On the basis of a proposal by the Socialists, Democrats and
Greens Group, the Bureau nominated Baroness Shami Chakrabarti (United
Kingdom) as an alternate.
On the basis of a proposal by the Group of the European People's
Party, the Bureau nominated Ms Christine Pasquier-Ciulla (Monaco)
as a representative.
The Assembly is invited to ratify
these Bureau decisions.
