“The announcement of an agreement over the cessation of hostilities in Syria as well as on the delivery of humanitarian aid to the population is a welcome and encouraging sign. All stakeholders must respect their commitments and ensure that what has been agreed is implemented in practice,” said PACE President Pedro Agramunt.
“It is symbolic that this agreement was reached on the eve of the Munich Security Conference – the world’s major forum for discussion on security. The conflict in Syria, as well as its consequences and ramifications, has become a global threat. The international community and all stakeholders must seize this opportunity to intensify efforts in search of a peaceful and durable solution to this conflict, while concentrating on our common enemy – international terrorism,” concluded Pedro Agramunt.
