On 7 December next in New York, Pedro Agramunt, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will be meeting António Guterres, the United Nations Secretary General designate, who will be taking up his duties on 1 January 2017.
Meetings are also scheduled with the President of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, the Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, representatives of the Alliance of Civilisations and the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees, and the ambassadors of the PACE member countries.
From 6 to 8 December, PACE President will join the Assembly’s Sub-Committee on External Relations which will hold meetings with high-level UN officials, including the UN Deputy Secretary General, the Assistant Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations, the Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, the Administrator of the UN Development Programme and the Head of the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate.
