A PACE Ad hoc Committee will participate on 18 April in a conference in Saint Petersburg on “Countering international terrorism”, co-organised by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, PACE, OSCE-PA, Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, CSTO-PA, IPU, UN Office of Counter-Terrorism and UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
The conference, which aims to build common approaches, will discuss the role of international institutions in countering terrorism, practices of criminal prosecution of terrorists and rehabilitation, prevention of illegal use of network technologies to spread extremist ideas, and the fight against the financing of terrorism.
PACE President Liliane Maury Pasquier will also participate in this event and will make a speech at the conference's plenary session.
