29/11/2019 Standing Committee
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani presented the priorities of the Georgian Chairmanship of the Council of Europe during an exchange of views with the members of the Assembly’s Standing Committee, which opened in Strasbourg today.
These include human rights and environmental protection, civil participation in decision-making processes, child-friendly justice and strengthening democracy through education, culture and youth engagement.
“The goal of focusing on these issues is to transcend the existing work of the member states and consolidate progress. Allow me to assure you that, as Chairman, Georgia is open to further fruitful collaboration,” he added.
The Foreign Minister also took questions from members of the Assembly.
