On 16 March 2022, the Russian Federation was expelled from the Council of Europe.
Despite this fact, on the basis of the notes and information document presented by the Secretary General to the Committee of Ministers on staff matters, about 80 Russian staff members will/may continue their employment within the Organisation.

Has the Committee of Ministers already foreseen, in its discussion on the budgetary and financial implications of the termination of the Russian Federation's membership of the Council of Europe, a budgetary package necessary to proceed to the termination of indefinite-term contracts of staff members with Russian citizenship, as well as of those with multiple citizenships (Russian and others)?
