That the Council of Europe encourage European research in the field of agriculture

The Assembly,

Considering that since 1953 the Council of Europe has awarded annually a number of scholarships to encourage research in various sectors of activity corresponding to the aims set out in its Statute ;

Noting that only one scholarship has so far been awarded for work in the field of agriculture,

Recommends to the Committee of Ministers :

1 that the number of scholarships awarded annually by the Council of Europe be increased, so that each year several scholarships may be granted for work on agricultural problems;

2 that Council of Europe scholarships be made better known in agricultural circles throughout Europe by means of appropriate propaganda effort.
