The Assembly,
Noting the proposal of the United Kingdom Government and voluntary agencies in Great Britain, mentioned in paragraph 19 of the Seventh Report on the activities of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (Doc. 857), to institute a " World Refugee Year " in order to raise funds for assistance to refugees through Governments, voluntary agencies and the general public;
Considering that the Executive Committee of the United Nations Refugee Fund has given its support to this proposal by Resolution No. X of 26th September 1958,
Instructs its Committee on Population and Refugees to present a report on this question and to submit proposals for the participation of the Council of Europe in the programme planned for the " World Refugee Year ".
