1. Further to the murder of the 9-year-old Azerbaijani boy, Fariz Badalov, on 8 March 2011, by an Armenian Armed Forces sniper positioned in the occupied Azerbaijani territories, another child murder took place. In July 2011, a 13-year-old Azerbaijani girl, Aygun Shahmaliyeva, an inhabitant of the village of Alibayli in the Tovuz district bordering with Armenia, became another victim of the Armenian anti-humanist and anti-moral policy. An explosive device installed on a toy was dropped by Armenians into the Tovuz River which flows from Armenia through the village of Alibayli. After finding this toy, Aygun Shahmaliyeva took it home where the toy exploded killing this innocent girl.

2. Such a tragic murder of a child is a human tragedy. Children are innocent and sensitive beings who depend on their elders. Every child should be able to live in peace and joy, grow up and get knowledge. Nonetheless, Aygun Shahmaliyeva has been deprived of these rights by the Armenian aggression. This tragic murder was condemned by UNICEF as well.

3. We consider the murder of every child a big tragedy, strongly condemn the tragic death of the Azerbaijani girl Aygun Shahmaliyeva and express our deep sorrow in this regard.
