The Assembly, referring to its Resolution 985 (1992) on the situation of human rights in Turkey, and recalling that, as a political body, it owes its authority to the fact that it gives the highest priority to upholding human rights and parliamentary democracy, instructs :

1 its Political Affairs Committee to continue to follow the situation in Turkey, in particular in the south-eastern provinces, and to report back to the Assembly in due course ;
2 its Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights to continue to follow the situation of human rights and parliamentary democracy in Turkey and to report back to the Assembly in due course ;
3 both committees to co-ordinate their work in order to present their reports to the Assembly at the same time.
