The Assembly,
Considering that it is necessary to prevent any further reduction in the North Sea and adjacent waters of the fishery reserves on which the fishing industries of many countries depend, and that it is necessary to protect and improve the food supply of Europe,
Recommends that the Governments of the countries which have signed but not ratified the Convention drawn up by the International Conference for the Prevention of Abuses in Fishing Areas, held in London in 1946, should take immediate steps to ratify that Convention and carry out its provisions.
