The Resolution was adopted unanimously.

The Assembly,

Having been requested by the Committee of Ministers, in accordance with Article 41(d) of the Statute, to consider an amendment to Article 26 of the Statute of the Council of Europe (Doc. 789);

Having considered Resolution (58) 3 of the Committee of Ministers;

Considering that Austria joined the Council of Europe on 16th April 1956 and the Saar ceased to be an Associate Member at the end of 1956,

Resolves that the proposed amendment be approved and that, accordingly, Article 26 of the Statute should read as follows:

"Members shall be entitled to the number of Representatives given below :

Austria - 6

Belgium - 7

Denmark- 5

France - 18

Federal Republic of Germany - 18

Greece - 7

Iceland - 3

Ireland - 4

Italy - 18

Luxembourg - 3

Netherlands - 7

Norway - 5

Sweden - 6

Turkey - 10

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 18 "
