1. The Assembly,
2. Considering that on 25th April 1961 the Motion for a Resolution on the situation in Spain presented by Mr. Kirk and others was referred to the Political Committee for a report and to the Committee on Non-Represented Nations for an opinion ;
3. Considering that this Motion requested that European public opinion should be fully informed on current events in Spain through the medium of the Consultative Assembly ;
4. Considering that this result has been partially obtained, to the extent that it possible, notably through the publication by several organisations of reports on specific aspects of the situation in Spain and also through discussion in the Assembly on 15th, 16th and 17th May 1962 of Spain's application for association with the European Economic Community which led to the adoption of Recommendation 314 ;
5. Considering that the opinion of the Committee on Non-Represented Nations was transmitted to the Political Committee on 16th November 1961 ;
6. Having taken note of the report of the Political Committee and of the reasons advanced in support of its position (Doc. 1692),
7. Decides that no further action should be taken on the Motion for a Resolution tabled by Mr. Kirk and others (Doc. 1226) for the time being, and instructs the Political Committee to follow closely all new developments that might arise in the situation in Spain.
