The Assembly, referring to its Recommendation 1441 (2000) on the situation in Belarus, instructs its Political Affairs Committee, in co-operation with its Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, to monitor closely developments in Belarus and to draw up a report if need be, particularly with a view to making proposals for the Assembly’s participation in the observation of the forthcoming elections, scheduled for the year 2000.
