In the draft resolution, after paragraph 8.5, insert the following paragraph:

"ensure that the religious beliefs and traditions of individuals and communities of the society are respected, while guaranteeing that a due balance is struck with the rights of others in accordance with the case law of the European Court on Human Rights;"

Explanatory note

This amendment would ensure that the equality of all persons before the State is underlined in this report. The report fails to give any protection to non-religious people or people who are not exercising a religion on a daily basis. It would also provide a more positive language to the report.
