This written declaration does not reflect the position of the Assembly; only of those members that have signed it. It will not be considered further by the Assembly.
Considering the regrettable evolution of events in the separatist
security zone of Transnistria, we find that one-sided actions of
the self-proclaimed authorities of Transnistria, such as the adoption
of the so-called State border, coordinating intense military exercises
in the city of Bender, blocking activities carried by the Unified Controlling
Commission and by military expert teams - lead to the obstruction
of constitutional institutions activities of the Republic of Moldova
and do nothing but degrade the regulation process of the frozen
conflict.
These actions, by the self-proclaimed authorities of Transnistria
deteriorate the situation, as they obstruct the free circulation
of citizens of both banks of the river Dniestr, generate additional
human rights violations, and sow panic within the population, already
frightened by the possibility of a new armed conflict.
We therefore call upon the constitutional authorities of the
Republic of Moldova and the negotiating partners of the "5+2" format,
to undertake all necessary actions in order to avoid the aggravation
of the situation in the security zone and to ensure a productive
dialogue aiming at finding exclusively peaceful solutions to the
frozen conflict.
