Violation of human rights, executions, and arbitrary arrests
continue in Iran. Over 1000 were hanged in one year under “moderate
president” Rouhani. Religious dictatorship in Iran is the epicentre
of terrorism. We believe that this is so because we see that since
2009, 137 defenceless Camp Liberty residents have been killed in
six deadly attacks by Iraq’s government at the behest of Iranian
regime.
Islamic extremism sadly expanded in Iraq and Syria as a result
of sectarian interferences of Iran and its proxies. We concur with
views of National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) President
Maryam Rajavi that in order to overcome Islamic extremism, we need
to support democracy, human rights, gender equality and a secular and
tolerant State to be established in Iran.
The International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) recent report
revealed that the regime has at the present time no intention of
abandoning its nuclear weapons project. We stress that any Iranian
nuclear agreement that does not include implementation of United
Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, a halt to uranium enrichment
and the IAEA unhindered access, will leave the path open for any
rogue rulers to obtain nuclear bombs.
We call on the new Prime Minister Al-Ebadi to immediately
announce Camp Liberty as a refugee camp under the United Nations
High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) supervision, to end the siege
completely, to guarantee safety, security and the rights of the
residents in accordance with international laws.
