In the draft resolution, paragraph 5.5, replace the words "but under no circumstances in cases of sexual or gender-based violence" with the following words:
"limiting any exceptions to cases of child abuse or neglect, or domestic violence".
Children have the right to be protected from violence. This right supersedes the right of parents to benefit from the principle of shared residence. The amendment seeks to clarify that all cases of child abuse or neglect or domestic violence should be taken into account when allocating residence.
