Activities of the Assembly’s Bureau and Standing Committee (24 June 2016)

The Bureau considered and approved the following references to committees:

Doc. 14072, motion for a resolution, Setting minimal standards for electoral systems in order to offer the basis for free and fair elections: reference to the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy for report, and to the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights and to the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs for opinion;
Doc. 14085, motion for a resolution, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) and its implications for social rights, public health and sustainable development: reference to the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development for report;
Doc. 13971, motion for a resolution, Striking a balance between the best interest of the child and the need to keep the families together: reference to the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development for report;
Doc. 14033, motion for a resolution, A potential threat to European countries imposed by the nuclear power plant in Belarus: reference to the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development for report;
Doc. 14026, motion for a resolution, The value of cultural heritage in a democratic society: reference to the Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media for report;
Bureau decision, Balancing the right to work, the right to strike: reference to the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development for report.

On the basis of a proposal by the EPP/CD Group, the Bureau nominated Mr Yves Pozzo di Borgo (France).

On the basis of a proposal by the SOC Group, the Bureau nominated Ms Petra De Sutter (Belgium).

The Assembly is invited to ratify these Bureau decisions.
