We, the undersigned, declare the
following:
We note with the deepest concern the reports by international
organisations and eye witnesses of mass forced deportations of Ukrainian
civilians caught up by Russian occupying forces. According to the
United Nations, the number exceeds 1.2 million, many of them children,
while other estimates show far greater numbers.
This is a clear violation of the most basic rights of those
affected, leaving aside the fact that the Russian Federation’s invasion
of Ukraine and these people’s very homes is in itself entirely unlawful.
We call on the Russian Federation to immediately cease such
provocations against human dignity, and the international community
to react with the necessary vigor.
