In the draft resolution, replace paragraph 15.1 with the following paragraph:

"promote the use of the relevant standards and instruments of the Council of Europe in the fields of democracy, human rights and the rule of law in the actions and policies of the European Union;"

Explanatory note

The level of political and economic integration of the EU has no direct connection to the CoE. Nevertheless, the EU and its member states should of course apply the CoE’s standards and instruments for their actions and policies.
