The Parliamentary Assembly has decided to restructure and streamline its Rules of Procedure, which have grown lengthy and cumbersome since the last general revision in 1999. The goal is to enhance their user-friendliness without making significant amendments. The revised structure will divide the Rules of Procedure into four sections: Basic principles of the Assembly, Rules on the functioning of the Assembly, Rules on the functioning of committees, and a Code of conduct for members. Additionally, the Assembly plans to reorganise and simplify its complementary texts to ensure coherence. The restructured Rules will take effect at the opening of the January 2027 part-session.
