Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court of Human
Rights
The Committee on the Election of Judges to the European Court
of Human Rights held a meeting in Paris on 14 September 2026, with
Mr Sergiy Vlasenko (Ukraine, EPP/CD) in the Chair.
The committee assessed the lists of the candidates to the
Court in respect of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Spain and Switzerland.Note

2.1 Bosnia and Herzegovina
The committee interviewed all the candidates on 14 September
2026.
The committee recommends to the Assembly, by an overwhelming
majority, Ms Svjetlana Milišić-Veličkovski as the most qualified
candidate.
2.2 Spain
The committee decided to proceed with interviews with the
candidates at its January 2027 meeting.
2.3 Switzerland
The committee decided to proceed with interviews with the
candidates at its January 2027 meeting.
