1. Meeting in accordance with the provisions of Rule 6 of the Rules of Procedure, the Credentials Committee has examined the credentials of the new Representatives and Substitutes to the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe appointed as a result of the deaths of MM. Lassagne and Singer.

2. New appointments were made by France and the Saar, certified in each case, by the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

3. Four Member States have not filled their vacant seats, namely :

a German Federal Republic : the seat of M. Nölting, deceased;

b Italy : the seat of M. Giacchero, who resigned at the Fourth Session;

c Sweden : the seat of M. Wallentheim, deceased;

d Turkey : two seats which have been vacant since the beginning of the present Session;

Thus, of the statutory number of 132 seats only 127 seats are filled.

4. No objection having been raised, the Committee unanimously proposes that the Assembly confirms the validity of the appointment of the following Representatives and Substitutes :
