The Committee on Population and Refugees proposes for adoption by the Assembly the following draft Reply, which was unanimously approved by the Committee :
The Assembly has taken note with particular satisfaction of the Report on the Activities of the Intergovernmental Com mittee for European Migration. It desires to thank the Committee for communicating this Report, which has enabled the Assembly to appreciate the work accomplished by the Committee in the field of overseas emigration since 1st February, 1952.
The Assembly wishes to stress once again the importance which it attaches to the work of the Committee, whose achievements if follows with the greatest interest. It hopes that the new Constitution promulgated by the Committee will make it possible to increase and extend the migratory movements.
The Assembly is aware of the difficulties in the way of any large-scale increase in these movements, but it has every confidence in the Committee and is convinced that the latter will succeed in its appointed task.
