1. The Assembly invites its committees :
1.1 to include in the programmes of their meetings outside Strasbourg and Paris :
a a debate on a topical subject in the host country, on which the Council of Europe has done considerable work - a minister responsible for that subject and a delegation from the national parliaments concerned would be invited to participate in the debate,
b a press conference and, if possible,
c a meeting with upper secondary school pupils ;
1.2 to urge their members to take steps to prompt their governments to follow up Council of Europe activities.
2. The Assembly invites its members to inform the national committees on which they sit about deliberations in the Council of Europe which might concern the matters dealt with by the said committees.
3. The Assembly urges and recommends its members to publish articles and give public lectures on Council of Europe activities.
4. The Assembly instructs national delegations to send an annual account of the initiatives taken by their members to the Committee on Parliamentary and Public Relations, so that the latter can include it in its annual progress report.
5. The Assembly instructs the Committee on Parliamentary and Public Relations to arrange periodical exchanges of views on topical subjects concerning European co-operation, in particular those debated on in the Assembly, bringing together members of national parliaments and the representatives of Assembly committees concerned by the items on the agenda (frequency : yearly or once every two years at the summer sessions).
6. The Assembly considers that heads of national delegations should attend at least one meeting per annum of the Committee on Parliamentary and Public Relations, held during an Assembly session, and when the progress report is being discussed, presenting inter alia a review of initiatives and activities concerning the Council of Europe in national parliaments.
