1. The Assembly refers to its Resolution 970 (1991) on the situation in Albania, notably in respect of technical assistance in the medical field and humanitarian aid.
2. It recalls Order No. 461 (1991) on the situation of hospitals in Albania, instructing its Social, Health and Family Affairs Committee to explore ways of meeting the most urgent needs of certain hospitals.
3. It notes the decision taken by this committee to commission an expert study on priority needs of the Paediatric Institute of Tirana, and welcomes the humanitarian initiatives which are being taken by Luxembourg and Switzerland.
4. It calls on the Committee of Ministers to take account of the recent loss in terms of supplies and humanitarian aid.
5. The Assembly recommends that the Committee of Ministers refer the question of evaluation of priority needs of the Paediatric Institute of Tirana to the European Health Committee for consideration at its next meeting and for action as soon as circumstances permit.
