The Assembly,
Having regard to Resolution 27 (1962) of the European Conference of Local Authorities on the participation of local authorities in the clean air campaign ;
Having regard to the second paragraph of Article 1 (b) of the Charter of the Conference ;
Recalling its Recommendation 290 (1961) on air pollution ;
Having regard to the Opinion of the Social Committee,
Welcomes the favourable reactions of Conference members to its proposal to hold a European conference on air pollution ;
Approves the recommendations made to local and regional authorities and their associations in the Resolution in question ;
Expresses the wish that the Standing Committee of the European Conference of Local Authorities take the necessary steps to implement the Resolution in question and arrange for national delegations to the Conference to appoint correspondents to assist in preparing the conference on air pollution in accordance with Resolution 27.
