1. The Committee of Ministers has carefully
examined Parliamentary Assembly Recommendation 2261 (2023) “Call
for the immediate release of Osman Kavala”. It refers the Assembly
to its most recent decisions adopted in the supervision of the Kavala case at its 1483rd meeting,
5-7 December 2023 (DH), (CM/Del/Dec(2023)1483/H46-37)
and at its 1486th meeting, 17 January
2024, (CM/Del/Dec(2024)1486/H46-1)
setting out the steps taken, and those anticipated.
2. Mr Kavala’s situation will be examined at each regular and
human rights meeting of the Committee until such time that he is
released.
