The Assembly,
Having received from the Committee of Ministers a request for an Opinion on the draft Agreement designed to govern relations between the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation and the Council of Europe ;
Having regard to the interest of the Council in all questions connected with the agricultural situation in Europe ;
Believing that the Assembly should have the benefit of the knowledge and experience of the specialised agencies, so that it may develop its capacities as a parliamentary body ;
Considering that it is in the interests of the Council of Europe, when carrying out its tasks, to co-operate and maintain close contact with inter-governmental and other international organisations,
Expresses the opinion that relations between the Consultative Assembly and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation should be established on the lines proposed by the Committee of Ministers.
