02/10/2025 | 11:27:38 Thank you. Thank you, Mister President. Eight months ago, from this Assembly, we said that on the Palestinian issue, Europe is on the wrong side of history because it's far from doing all it can for peace. Unfortunately, this is still the case. The issue of the safety of journalists in Gaza is a clear example of the unbelievable scale of destruction. According to the UN, since 2023, over 2 040 journalists have been killed by the Israeli armed forces. I wonder how does a European citizen feel... 28/01/2025 | 10:42:12 Thank you. Thank you, Mister President. Today's resolution is very timely, but I believe we need to speak clearly. We live in a multipolar world, with multiple crises and huge inequalities. And Mr Donald Trump after his reelection tells us that in this world – where authoritarian regimes are becoming stronger – it is not in the interests of the US to agree new, more inclusive rules based on international law, as it did in 1945 or 1990, but to replace these rules with one rule: “might makes... 27/06/2024 | 16:39:01 So, there is a sabotage, Mister President. This particular Resolution is important at this... 18/04/2024 | 19:09:29 Thank you very much, Mister President. On 13 November 1973, Willy Brandt was the first head of government to address the European Parliament here in Strasbourg. His first words in that historic speech before he spoke about European unification were about the Middle East. He said that "tragedy in the Middle East, which is so close to us, not only geographically but also culturally and historically, require of me to speak as a German and as a European. [...] The conflict is also a challenge to... 16/04/2024 | 17:48:44 Thank you very much, Mister President. First of all, I want to thank Ms Dora BAKOYANNIS for her reports. There are different positions in this hall including in my own Group of the Unified European Left on whether or not Kosovo's accession in this period contributes to the goals of the Council of Europe. As you may know, I have vouched for peace, stability and growth in the region of the Balkans and from this experience, I have at least learned two things. First of all, that there are no easy...
