11/04/2025 | 10:05:27 Thank you very much, Mister President, Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to use this debate to talk about the difficulties we had in the recent elections in Germany. Many of them have been mentioned over the course of the week. I have also often been asked, "What happened?", and I will now try to present this in a somewhat systematic way. There are three problem areas, I'll call them, in the early elections that we had in Germany on 23 February. Early elections, also with a massively... 10/04/2025 | 12:18:46 Dear colleagues, The Lisbon Treaty, the EU's basic treaty, was adopted in 2007 and came into force in 2009. This treaty states that the EU will accede to the Convention on Human Rights. It doesn't say it could join, should join. We said in the debate that this Parliamentary Assembly had reached an impasse, and I believe we have reached that impasse. The background to this situation is the elections on 26 October. I was... 09/04/2025 | 10:23:45 Thank you very much, Mister President. Ladies and gentlemen, I would first like to congratulate Mr Frank SCHWABE for his work in this area. I have to say that I have been a member of this Assembly since January 2010, so I was an active member here at the height of the corruption scandal. And even as a new Member of Parliament, it was difficult for me to see through what was actually going on in the background. There were a lot of decisions back then where I scratched my head, so to speak, and... 07/04/2025 | 17:31:49 Thank you very much, Madam President, I will speak in German. First of all, at the request of Ms Petra BAYR, who is no longer able to respond, I would like to thank the members of the Election Commission in Kosovo and the Secretariat for their work and for the many questions and critical comments that have been addressed to Ms Petra BAYR. Overall, I would say that this debate also shows - as does the fact that we have had so many requests for urgent and current affairs this week - how...
