, 22.01.2008 – The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), meeting this week in plenary session in , today elected five judges to the European Court of Human Rights. They are the following:
· Zdravka Vladimirova Kalaydjieva, in respect of ;
· Ann Power, in respect of ;
· Ineta Ziemele, in respect of ;
· Mihail Poalelungi, in respect of ;
· Ayse Isil Karakas, in respect of .
Judges are elected by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe from lists of three candidates nominated by each State which has ratified the European Convention on Human Rights.
