Strasbourg, 21.08.2012 – “I take note of the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the referendum on the dismissal of the Romanian President. All institutions and political players in Romania must abide by this decision,” today said Jean-Claude Mignon, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
“Once again, I call on all politicians to exercise wisdom and overcome their differences to ensure that cohabitation takes place under the best possible conditions. Particularly in these times of crisis, it is essential that all the country’s institutions work together to provide the right solutions to the problems facing the country’s population.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe remains at the disposal of our Romanian partners to offer them the political support they may need, particularly in the preparation of the general elections scheduled for this autumn,” Mr Mignon added.
