PACE Committee on Culture considers that national parliaments should deliver policies for culture “which effectively uphold our common core values” – human rights, democracy and the rule of law. These policies should also ensure adequate access to education and support participation in cultural life, creativity and innovation.
Adopting a draft resolution based on a report by Anne Brasseur (Luxembourg, ALDE), the committee said that national parliaments take greater advantage of policy instruments and tools developed by the Council of Europe, while adopting concrete measures to enhance intercultural dialogue and reinforcing inter-parliamentary co-operation in the fields of culture and education at regional and European levels, including co-operation with the European Parliament and the Assembly.
