29/11/2013 Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs
The PACE Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs will hold a seminar on 2 December in Belgrade, in co-operation with the PACE Parliamentary Project Support Division, on the mechanisms available to national parliaments to counter corruption.
This seminar, which is the first edition, will involve parliamentarians of different countries and will be held in the Serbian National Assembly. It follows the adoption in June 2013 of PACE Resolution 1943 (2013) on “Corruption as a threat to the rule of law”.
After the opening addresses by the President of the Serbian National Assembly, Nebojša Stefanović, and by the Chairperson of the PACE Committee on Rules of Procedure, Nataša Vučković (Serbia, SOC), participants will discuss how to strengthen the legal and institutional capacity of parliamentarians in order to prevent and address corruption in their own ranks. They will also evoke different national experiences.
