Around 18 parliamentarians spoke in this session’s “free debate” – which gives Assembly members the opportunity to speak on any subject that is not already on the agenda – to reflect on the application of Council of Europe values in many areas of life and in many parts of the world.
Issues covered included the situation in the Middle East, the situation in Iraq, prisoner voting in the United Kingdom, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the recent European Parliament elections, among other topics.
