27/06/2014 Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs
The Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs, in collaboration with the Italian delegation to PACE, will hold a parliamentary seminar on 1 July in Rome on codes of conduct for parliamentarians and the prevention of corruption.
This seminar, which will address Italian parliamentarians as well as other PACE members, is organised under the umbrella of the new PACE anti-corruption platform. Among the speakers, the Italian Minister of Justice will share his key insights on the topic.
Michele Nicoletti, member of the Italian delegation and Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly, strongly promoted this initiative aiming at pressing for speedy action to adopt a code of conduct for parliamentarians in Italy. “I believe that the fight against corruption starts with public institutions, which should be at the forefront in promoting high ethical standards and transparency, including in their own ranks”, he said.
