PACE President Anne Brasseur has written to the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to condemn this week’s brutal terrorist attack on a court-house in Istanbul and send a message of comfort and sympathy to the family of Prosecutor Mehmet Selim Kiraz, who was killed.
Ms Brasseur, who begins a four-day visit to Turkey on 7 April, added: “Terrorism undermines the very foundations of democratic societies as well as the values of human rights and the rule of law that the Council of Europe stands for”.
