The town of Vinnytsia (Ukraine) will receive the Flag of Honour of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Saturday, 5 September 2015. Ms Edeltraud Gatterer, Honorary Member of the Parliamentary Assembly will present this distinction to reward the European efforts of this city, which, in the framework of the twinning activities, regularly organises visits for exchanges of experience and best practice with regard to municipal governance, as well as trips by delegations to attend various festive, cultural or sporting events.
In the last few years, it has engaged in active co-operation, and exchanges have taken place between schools and institutions in Vinnytsia and Peterborough (United Kingdom) as well as with Kielce and Wyszków (Poland)..
