The town of Sopot (Poland) will receive the Plaque of Honour of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on Sunday, 13 September 2015. Johanna Schicker, former Member of the Parliamentary Assembly will present this distinction to reward the European efforts of this city which has relations with Mamonovo (Kaliningrad Region, Russian Federation) in the field of environmental protection in border areas, with Kaliningrad (Russian Federation in the field of higher education (traineeships, pupil exchanges) and the economy, with Grodno (Belarus) in the areas of democracy, culture and national minorities, and with Yerevan (Armenia).
