The Parliamentary Assembly organised a balloon launch today on the forecourt of the Council of Europe building, to mark the first European Day on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse, set on 18 November following an initiative taken by PACE through its Recommendation 2045 (2014).
Each balloon carried a card promoting the video ‘The Lake’ with the aim of encouraging victims to break the silence and seek help. Mario Martins, Director General of the PACE Secretariat, and Marja Ruotanen, Director of Human Dignity and Equality, addressed a group of young people and Council of Europe staff members.
