Anne Brasseur (Luxembourg, ALDE) urged her fellow parliamentarians to deal with current challenges by drawing inspiration from the founding values of the Council of Europe – the European Convention on Human Rights – as she presented the progress report of the Bureau and the Standing Committee, which covers the activities and decisions of the Assembly’s subsidiary bodies since the last session.
During the debate, many members thanked Mrs Brasseur for her two years of service as President of the Assembly, which ended today.
