The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) has elected Hendrik Daems (Belgium) new Chairperson of the Group. Mr Daems, former Minister of Telecommunications, has been a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe since 2007 serving as Second Vice-Chairperson on the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy and is a member of serval committees including the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Immunities and Institutional Affairs.
