The Council of Europe Development Bank: supporting inclusive and sustainable growth

The Social Affairs Committee welcomed the Council of Europe Development Bank's (CEB) continued efforts to support inclusive and sustainable growth and integration of refugees, displaced persons and migrants, while encouraging it to continue to increase its investments "in countries which require more technical assistance and support".

In adopting a draft resolution based on the report prepared by Nicole Trisse (France, ALDE), the Committee welcomed the increased use of innovative financing instruments by the CEB, the management of its capital resources and reserves and the gradual progress in its governance reform.

The parliamentarians also regretted that some Council of Europe member states (Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Monaco, Russian Federation, Ukraine and the United Kingdom) had not yet joined the CEB and encouraged these eight States “to reconsider their position, in the interest of their populations”.
