Fiona O'Loughlin (Ireland, ALDE) and Yelizaveta Yasko (Ukraine, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for the periodic review on France, will carry out a fact-finding visit to Paris on 30-31 January, to assess the honouring of membership obligations to the Council of Europe by France.
The co-rapporteurs are due to meet, in particular, the Vice-President of the National Assembly, the Secretary of State for Europe, the Chairperson of the Senate's delegation for women's rights, as well as the Chairpersons of the Law Committees of the National Assembly and the Senate.
In addition, meetings are planned with the President and members of the French delegation to the Council of Europe, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, and representatives of independent regulatory authorities.
The periodic review applies to all member States that are not under a full monitoring procedure or engaged in “post-monitoring dialogue”.
