Empowerment of women in the digital age

The PACE Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination will organise on Monday 6 March in New York, a side-event entitled “Towards a green and digital future: challenges and opportunities for women and girls in public life and the workplace”, with the support of the Netherlands and Estonia , on the sidelines of the 67th session of the UN Committee on Status of Women (6-17 March 2023).

The debate will be moderated by Despina Chatzivassiliou-Tsovilis, Secretary General of the PACE, and will include the participation of Marjan Hammersma, Dutch Vice-Minister of Education, Culture and Science; Hanna Vseviov, Estonian Deputy Minister of Social Affairs; Mariëlle Feenstra, NGO Representative in the Dutch Delegation to CSW67; Mariia Mezentseva, Chairperson of the PACE Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination; Petra Stienen (Netherlands, ALDE); and Zita Gurmai (Hungary, SOC), former PACE General Rapporteur on violence against women.

The UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meets annually in March to address the inequalities, violence and discrimination women face.
